Went to Hot Doug's for the second time today for lunch with my sister Emily. I'm still surprised by just how busy it is. Nothing like when I went with Matt for his birthday and waited for 45 minutes for lunch on a Saturday, but for 3pm on a Thursday, the place was pretty full and the line almost never stopped. Well, I guess I'm not really surprised. The food is delicious, I absolutely love the atmosphere, and Doug is just so nice. Nice enough to pick the toppings for us when we were being indecisive. Here's what we had, ranked in my order of preference:
Ribeye Steak Sausage with Horseradish-Garlic Cream Sauce, Smoked Cheddar Cheese and Crispy Fried Onions
Blue Cheese Pork Sausage with White Peach Mayonnaise and Smoke Almonds
Some sort of Spanish Chorizo which unfortunately isn't up on the menu and I can't remember because it is all a blur of meat and toppings at this point
The Marty Allen/Thuringer with Brown Mustard, Pickle, and Grilled Onions (toppings selected by Doug)
Yummy!
